Dr. Isaac Mukasa founded Gloford in 2009 after a career in public health research that took him across East Africa. He holds a PhD in Public Health from Makerere University and an MPH from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
Isaac's approach to development work was shaped by years of observing how top-down aid programs failed to account for local realities. He believed that communities already possessed the insight needed to drive their own transformation — they simply needed partners willing to listen, invest, and stay. That conviction became the founding principle of Gloford.
Under Isaac's leadership, the organization has grown from a three-person mobile health clinic to a multi-program platform serving over 120,000 people across 14 districts. He oversees organizational strategy, major partnerships, and community relations, and he remains deeply involved in field operations.
Isaac serves on the advisory boards of the Uganda National Health Research Organization and the East African Health Alliance. He was named among Uganda's Top 40 Under 40 Social Innovators in 2018.
