Ojom Daniel

Community WASH and Climate Adaptation Officer

I’m Ojom Daniel, a Public Health Officer with a passion for community transformation and development. With several years of experience in public health, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various impactful roles, contributing to both local and national initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Lira University, my journey began as a student leader. As the Guild President and a member of the 2nd University Council, I honed my leadership skills and gained valuable experience in governance and advocacy. These roles equipped me with the proficiency to lead and inspire change within my community.

Beyond my academic achievements, I dedicated a year to volunteering as a Social Behavioral Change Communicator (SBBC Agent) at Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) under the WISH2ACTION project. This role involved implementing family planning activities, where I engaged directly with the community to promote reproductive health and rights. When this project concluded, I joined GLOFORD Uganda in November 2023, where I continued my volunteer work. At GLOFORD, I initially supported the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and Climate Change Department, and now, I serve as a Community WASH Officer directly attached to Kole District.

As a dedicated member of GLOFORD Uganda, I am deeply committed to the organization’s mission of empowering communities through sustainable development and innovative solutions. My work involves ensuring that communities have access to clean water, improved sanitation facilities, and are equipped to handle the challenges posed by climate change.

Being a young leader with a deep commitment to community transformation, I have represented Northern Uganda in various esteemed platforms. These include the National Youth Parliament and the East Africa Youth Parliament, where I participated actively in discussions and initiatives aimed at empowering young people and addressing regional challenges.

What sets me apart is my unique perspective and approach to community health and development. My experience in leadership, coupled with my hands-on involvement in public health initiatives, allows me to bring innovative and collaborative solutions to every project I undertake. I am particularly driven by a belief in integrity, innovation, and collaboration. These core values are at the heart of everything I do, guiding my efforts to make a lasting, positive impact.

Looking ahead, my goal is to continue advancing GLOFORD Uganda’s vision of transforming communities through sustainable development initiatives. I am committed to contributing to projects that drive positive change, improve public health, and enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve. I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations to create meaningful change.
