GLOFORD UGANDA WELCOMES LIRA UNIVERSITY FOR CAFFP-PAC PROJECT SUPPORT SUPERVISION MEETING
On June 9, 2025, GLOFORD Uganda had the privilege of hosting a delegation from Lira University including (Associate Professor Dr. Benard Omech, Dr. Amir KabungaDr. Maxson Anyolitho, Dr. Samson Udho and the project administrator), led by Associate Professor Dr. Bernard Omech, the Principal Investigator of the Comprehensive Adolescent-Friendly Family Planning and Post-Abortion Care (CAFFP-PAC) project, at our Lira offices for a partner support supervision meeting. Joined by Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU), this collaborative session brought together key stakeholders to review the progress of the CAFFP-PAC project, funded by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC). As a core implementing partner, GLOFORD Uganda is dedicated to driving impactful community-based initiatives in Northern Uganda, and this meeting provided a valuable opportunity to assess our collective efforts, share insights, and plan for the future.
Key Highlights from the Meeting
The meeting was a dynamic exchange that underscored the CAFFP-PAC project’s progress and GLOFORD Uganda’s pivotal role, with Associate Professor Dr. Bernard Omech commending our team for exceptional performance in project implementation and procurement, notably the acquisition and launch of two new powerful motorcycles to enhance operational mobility in Lira City and Lira District; partners reviewed procurement processes, celebrated GLOFORD’s timely achievement of project milestones through robust community engagement, shared lessons learned from Lira University’s research leadership and RHU’s service delivery expertise, addressed challenges such as logistical constraints with proactive solutions, and outlined future plans to scale up outreach, strengthen monitoring systems, and deepen stakeholder collaboration for sustained impact.
Strengthening Partnerships for Success
The support supervision meeting highlighted the power of collaboration among GLOFORD Uganda, Lira University, and RHU. The launch of the new motorcycles, handed over by Associate Professor Dr. Benard Omech, symbolizes our commitment to innovative and efficient project delivery. GLOFORD Uganda’s efforts were recognized as a cornerstone of the project’s success, particularly in mobilizing communities and managing resources effectively. The open discussions on challenges and shared learning reinforced our collective resolve to overcome obstacles and achieve the project’s objectives.
Looking ahead, GLOFORD Uganda is energized to build on these achievements, leveraging our strengthened partnerships and new resources to expand our reach and impact in Northern Uganda. We extend our gratitude to Lira University, RHU, and the IDRC for their continued support and collaboration. Together, we are laying the foundation for sustainable, community-driven change.
