Lira University tackles teenage pregnancy crisis.

Lira University is proud to announce the receipt of a substantial grant worth Shs3 billion to address the growing teenage pregnancy crisis in Uganda. This initiative, titled “Enhancing the Integration of Adolescent-Friendly Family Planning and Post-Abortion Care,” is a collaborative project involving both local and international partners.

The project aims to reduce teenage pregnancies and the associated child dependency burdens in Lira City and its surrounding districts. By providing critical support to adolescents, the initiative seeks to empower communities and pave the way for healthier futures for Uganda’s youth.

The project will focus on integrating adolescent-friendly family planning services and post-abortion care to ensure that young people have access to the resources and support they need to make informed health choices.

  • Lira District Local Government

  • GLOFORD Uganda

  • Reproductive Health Uganda

These partners are united in their goal to combat teenage pregnancy, promote family planning, and improve reproductive health services for young people in Uganda.
