The new board of Directors for Global Forum for Development (GLOFORD) Uganda has been successfully inaugurated.
The board which will be chaired by Hon Dr Beson Obua Ogwal was inaugurated at a colorful ceremony held on Saturday 26th September 2022 at Pacific Grand Hotel Lira City was officiated by Counsel Emmanuel Egaru Omiat of Egaru and company advocates.
The new five member board include: Hon Dr Benson Obua Ogwal as the chairperson, Eng. Wilfred Okello, Claudia Apio, Dorcus Arao and Morris Chris Ongom who is the CEO of GLOFORD and will also double as the executive secretary to the board.
The new board replaces the founder board members who diligently served for 12years since the inception of the organization in 2009.
The founder board members will be absorbed to form board of trustees for the organization.
The former board members include Wilfred Okello as Chairman Board of Directors, Claudia Apio as Vice Chairman Board of Directors, Morris Chris Ongom, Founding CEO and Executive Secretary of the Board of Directors, George Obia, Member Board of Directors and Executive Treasurer, Bernard Acuma, member BoDs, Denis Emor, Member BoDs, Juliet Arica, Member BoDs, Sandra Auma, Member BoDs, Susan Ayer, Co-Founder and member BoDs.
In his maiden speech, the new chairperson board of directors Hon Dr Benson Obua Ogwal who is also the former Member of Parliament for Moroto County commended the former members of the board for building a solid rock foundation which they will continue from.
He says he has known GLOFORD for a protracted period of time and felt convicted to accept serving as the board chair because he saw it as an opportunity to serve his nation particularly Lango and northern Uganda.
Obua has vast experience under his belt in the civil society management after working in international organizations such as UNDP,Plan International Uganda and World Vision.
