GLOFORD is currently operating in Lira, Oyam, Alebtong and Dokolo districts. GLOFORD is committed to working with young people, leaders, communities, Civil society partners, donors, academia and private sector to champion Holistic development programs and approaches to enhance effective, efficient and quality service delivery to the disadvantaged and oppressed communities and individuals. GLOFORD is responding to USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services – North, Lango (USAID RHITES-N, Lango) project RFP No. 13759-G-02 issued on 23 November 2018 https://www.jsi.com/JSIInternet/IntlHealth/contract/solicitations.cfm . The project will be implemented over five years (2018 – 2023) and is led by John Snow Inc. (JSI) in partnership with Amref Health Africa, Another Option LLC, Doctors with Africa (CUAMM) and the Medical Concierge Group (TMCG).

 

In collaboration with Ministry of Health of Uganda (MOH) and the local governments, the project will provide technical assistance to support quality health services in nine districts of the Lango region. The purpose of USAID RHITES-N, Lango project is to increase the effective use of integrated health services in the region and develop health systems to sustain these gains. The project is expected to contribute to measurable improvements in key population based national health indicators.

 

GLOFORD is responding to the RFP and is assembling a team. We are seeking to line up key personnel as we bid for the opportunity. Remember that GLOFORD has no obligation with you yet until the organization secures this opportunity which will be communicated to the job applicants in February 2019.

 

Please, if you have grants and technical project management for at least three years, grab this opportunity and respond within the tight timelines. Our CEO and Senior Management Team-SMT will engage with you directly by 5th December 2018.

 

Roles being proposed:

  7. Project Officer-Social Behaviour Change Communication and Inclusion,
  8. Project Officer-DREAMS and Youth Engagement,
  9. Project Officer-Leadership, Advocacy and Governance,
  10. Project Support Administrator. 

 

 

Since we are all working on tight timelines, GLOFORD seeks to line up these technical team that will deliver on the project being proposed should GLOFORD succeed in this bid for opportunity with JSI. This tight deadline should be respected and we believe personnel in this category understand the nature of this pressure and will respond within the deadline as is always the case in this industry.

A Bachelor’s degree relevant to the role you are applying for

 

   Knowledge of specific sector highlighted by role, challenges and opportunities

Experience delivering successful health interventions in the Lango sub region/Northern Uganda

Knowledge of participatory research methods, participation action and learning

Knowledge of contextual diversity of various areas of Lango

Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in specific technical role with at least 1-2 years with some international organization

Knowledge and understanding of project management and grants especially USAID supported projects is an added advantage

Experience of quality report writing

Experience with district led partnership and health service leadership

Good experience in community organizing for sustainable development

Experience in the following thematic areas of health programming

§  Increase community access, awareness and demand for HIV testing services, including HIV self-testing;

§  Promote HIV prevention strategies: voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC), elimination of mother-to-child transmission (eMTCT);

§  improved access to ART and viral load suppression; reduce HIV related stigma and discrimination; optimization and strengthening of facility -community linkages;

§  Improve access to Family Planning with focus on addressing myths and misconceptions;

§  Address gaps in RMNCH, new-born, child survival and nutrition and malaria;

§  Ensures care and treatment of TB, including TB-HIV coinfection and drug resistant and multi-drug resistant (DR and MDR-TB).

§  Uganda and district local government Health service delivery systems and contexts with clear understanding of sector policies, investment plans, development plans among others

   Experience of conducting research

Experience of organizing lesson-learning sessions

Skills

Good command over report writing in English

Good interpersonal skills

Excellent computer knowledge with command on MS Excel among other packages of MS Office

Working Conditions

Ability and willingness to travel and stay at remote locations that are located within potentially hostile environments. Able to travel within the Lango sub region, country and internationally as required.
